MGluR2/3のサル大脳皮質物体視経路における分布勾配

代謝型グルタミン酸受容体mGluR2/3の成体サル大脳皮質物体視経路における分布を免疫組織化学により検討した。mGluR2/3免疫反応は、いずれの領野においても、細胞体ではなくニューロピルに見られ、1-3層>5-6層>4層の順で強かった。領野間を比較すると、免疫反応性は経路前方に向かい明瞭な勾配を持ち、V2V1V4TEOTEの順で強かった。mGluR2/3は、物体視経路の領野構成の階層性を反映する神経化学的マーカーの一つとなり得る。

GRADIENT IN DISTRIBUTION OF mGLUR2/3-LIKE IMMUNOREACTIVITY ALONG THE VENTRAL VISUAL PATHWAY IN THE MACAQUE MONKEY.

Class II metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluR2/3) are implicated in regulation and modification of synaptic transmission.  By an immunohistochemical method, we examined the distribution of mGluR2/3 in cortical area along the ventral visual pathway in adult Japanese macaques.  In all the areas examined (V1, V2, V4, TEO, TE), mGluR2/3-like immunoreactivity was found only in neuropils, and showed a clear laminar distribution pattern, in which layers 1-3 were densely stained, layers 5 and 6 were moderately stained, and layer 4 was the least stained.  When compared among the areas, the immunostaining gradually increased from V1 to the TE.  The optical density of mGluR2/3-like immunoreactivity in layers 1-3 was 20-30% higher in areas V4, TEO and TE than in V1 and V2, and there was a gradual increase in the labeling density from V4 to the TE.  Therefore, mGluR2/3 is another example of neurochemical markers whose distribution pattern parallels the hierarchical organization of the visual cortical pathway.
